IATA Expects Flights Recovery in the Second Half of 2020

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) expects a recovery in travel in the second half of 2020, despite a warning that airlines are threatened with severe losses this year.

IATA economist, Brian Pearce, said in a press statement, last Thursday, "We have really begun to see the results of negotiations between countries to open bilateral markets, such as Australia, New Zealand, China and Singapore, as well as China and South Korea," expecting a recovery in the aviation sector during the second half of 2020.
Pearce added that it would be good to resume flights in some countries, noting that many airlines rely mainly on international flights.
Travel flights around the world decreased by about 98 % in April, compared with the same period in 2019, as countries closed their borders in an attempt to curb the Corona pandemic.
